Patratu Thermal Power Station
JSEB have two Power Plants:- This is coal based thermal power station having installed capacity of 840 MW and derated capacity of 770 MW. At present three units are under operation namely unit No. 4,6&10 having average generation of 150 MW. Units of this station installed between 1966- 71 are old and hence JSEB have taken decision to phase out 05 units, the unit No. 1,2,3,5&8. JSEB have total 170 MW of stranded capacity from rest 02 coal based units of this station namely unit No. 7&9. These units are under shut down. Restoration of unit No. 9 is in progress and the stranded capacity of 90 MW may be catered from March ’14. Restoration planning of unit No. 7 is under progress and its stranded power of 80 MW may be achieved from March ’14.
